Heart of the City Episode 4: Pre-Arrest Diversion
Amir successfully fought to move $1.6 million in the FY21 budget from the Corrections department towards the Atlanta-Fulton County Pre-Arrest Trial Diversion (PAD) program. The move takes money from the jail and puts it into keeping residents out of jail.
The latest Heart of the City episode discusses PAD in depth, with a focus on what they’ll do with the budget increase.

In the third episode, Amir speaks to economic security issues across Atlanta. He then announces the launch of the Old Fourth Ward Economic Security Task Force, launched by the District 2 office with the assistance of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute as well as Economic Security Project.
