Announcing the District 2 Arts+Culture Fund!

Do you have a performance, cultural event, or installation that you want to host or perform/install in District 2? My office has set aside $30,000 to support neighborhood-driven arts and culture that reflects the character and interests of residents.

To apply for an arts and culture grant up to $5,000, please submit the following to arfarokhi@atlantaga.gov:

  • A 1-page description of the proposed arts and culture event/performance. Please include name of person or entity applying, contact information (address, phone number, and email), location of proposed event/installation, desired timing, budget description, and why this request is important to you, the neighborhood, and the city.

  • Any supporting materials you wish to submit.

Applications are accepted from District 2 residents, District 2 non-profit and cultural organizations, District 2 neighborhood organizations, and creatives who want to create/perform something in/for the district. Collaborative submissions are also welcome. Grants are made on a rolling basis until funds are depleted and are contingent on the recipient registering as a City of Atlanta vendor, a process which can be completed after an award is announced.

We look forward to reviewing your amazing submissions!

Sincerely,

Amir

District 2 has some of the richest cultural assets and arts and performance culture in the city. Yet, sustaining that requires intentionality. To that end, in 2023, my office commissioned Purpose Possible to lead a community-driven arts and culture plan for our neighborhoods. Their full report can be found here or by clicking on the image below.

Together, we can find initiatives, funding, partnerships, and new policies to ensure that creativity and performance have a home in District 2!
